PeopleSoft Receivables PUM 19 Updates

PeopleSoft has delivered certain key functionalites and enhancements for Receivables module in PUM 19 updates that brings benefits to the business in a way
they could eliminate critical pain points and challenges part of day-to-day operation.

1. Allow deposits with zero payment

This functionality allows business to create deposits with zero payments and post worksheet with zero payments smoothly.

Imagine a scenario that the business receives a cheque from customer referencing for multiple invoices but apparently customer missed to include a real payment for one of the invoice.
As per process, a receivables specialist or collector may need to enter zero payment for the invoice and would need to track the zero payment in system
allowing zero payment apply creating a deposit. Imagine another scenario where the user creates a deposit with multiple payments (including direct
journal) and for one of the payments user forgets to enter a payment amount, so the amount is zero. As a result, the deposit status can never be updated to
Complete, because the system prevents to post deposit from being posted for a zero payment. Some customers to get around this challenge, they may enter .01 cent amount in control amount and may write-off
the amount in order to post the worksheet and appy fully.

From system process perspective, ensure do the below steps to allow the system for Zero payment amount

1. Naviagte to Set Up Financials/Supply Chain->Business Unit Related->Receivables->Receivables Options->Payment Options tab
2. Select the checkbox ‘Enable Zero Payment Amount’ to allow deposits with zero payments amount. This option is deselected by default.
3. Create a regular of express deposit containing zero payment and reference the item on it.
4. Apply zero payment against that selected item and post the worksheet.
5. Review the payments

The benefits include enablung business to create deposit with zero payment and apply zero payment worksheet smootly to track the zero payment and
eliminate the challenge or pain of getting around applying zero payment without dealing with any work around..

2. Ability to unpost direct journal payments.

This functionality allows business to unpost direct journals that have been posted already, create new unpost activity and new distribution lines for each item that is being unposted.

Imagine a scenario where commitment control is enabled for AR module, a depsoit for multiple payment has been created with direct journal marked, and
then accounting entries has been created, accounting entries has been marked complete and budget check has been run and posted. Later you have identified that you have entered
incorrect amount or GL distribution and there is no option to modify the accounting entries since the transactions have been budget checked. You could leverage the unpost functionality to
create the unpost activity, and create new deposit with correct information with direct journal marked and create
journal payment.
From system process, ensure to do the following steps to unpost the direct payment

1. Navigate to Accounts Receivable->Payments->Direct Journal Payments->Unpost Direct Journal->Unpost Direct Journal
2. Enter search parameters such as Deposit Unit or Deposit ID. The result shows deposits for which a direct journal has been posted.
3. Click the unpost button for the payment you would like to unpost.
4. Check the budget status on the direct journal review secondary page and make sure it is Valid or the entries must be balanced.
5. Click OK to unpost the direct journal payment and create a positive payment.
6. Run the journal genertor process, if you want to post a new deposit to the GL

The benefits include enabling business giving option to unpost the direct payment to post correct entries, minimizing loss of service and
eliminating any journal adjustments to correct the entries.

3. Ability to override inherited Chartfields on write-off transactions on payment and maintenance worksheets.

This functionality allows business to override inherited chartfields on write-off transaction
From system process perspective, ensure do the below steps to enable override the inherited chartfields on write-off or maintenance worksheet

1. Naviagte to Set Up Financials/Supply Chain->Business Unit Related->Receivables->Receivables Options->Payment Options tab
2. Select the checkbox ‘Enable Write-off Override’ to allow users to override inherited chartfields on write-off transactions on payments and maintenance worksheets.
